Lane Remains A Lamb

Monday May 15, 2017

 Jack commits for 2017/18 season!

Central Defender Jack Lane has committed his immediate future to Tamworth F.C. by agreeing to sign a new contract for next season. Lane joins defensive partner Luke Jones, along with Goalkeeper Dan Jezeph and Midfielder Ellis Deeney, all of whom are already under contract ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

Lane, 24, made a total of 43 starts in all competitions last season, which was second only to Andy Burns. He also found the back of the net on 3 occasions in his first 7 games, which put him top of the Lambs goalscoring chart at the end of August!

Lane lists the likes of Nuneaton Town and Ilkeston as previous clubs in non league, after graduating from the youth development set up at Macclesfield Town.

On Lane, Andy Morrell said "I think he has got more aggressive as the season has gone on but we fell we can put a lot more work into him still and make his even stronger. He has a lot of good attributes though. He played over 40 games for us last season and so he has that experience of the level. He is left footed and so gives us some balance and he is athletic and has a good passing range. I am delighted to have him back on board."

Talks are ongoing with a number of other targets, and news of these will be announced in due course.
