Tamworth continued their good form, on Saturday, with a 2-1 victory over Grays Athletic and travel to Gateshead on Tuesday night in a game which pits the two promoted clubs together for the first time since they shared the honours last season.
Lambs boss Gary Mills was understandably bouyed by his squads performance, describing it as a “Great result” after a long week.
“My players were really eager to play again after the game against Stevenage and in a game where the weather had an influence we came through and got a result. I don’t think people realise how draining it is to play in such warm and humid conditions, and neither side really got going as they could but we’ve were probably the better side and have now picked up four points from two games.”
Bradley Pritchard netted his second goal in two games and Mills said “We’ve definitely found a ‘new’ player in Bradley, he thoroughly deserved his Man of the Match and he always plays the game with a smile on his face.”
The Supporters Coach to Gateshead departs The Lamb at 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon and you can book your place by clicking here to find out more.
Grays manager Gary Phillips made no excuses for his sides performance, saying "We lost the game in the first half and can have no excuses for not trying as hard as we should have done today. We weren’t industrious and did so many things wrong that we didn’t deserve to win. There was a lack of commitment, we didn’t complete and looked tired so didn’t deserve anything from the game. We can’t continue like that if we want to progress in this league.”
