Lambs v Canaries

 Tamworth entertain Hitchin Town on Saturday.

 Hitchin Town arrive at the Lamb on Saturday buoyed by some excellent performances in recent games. Although the Canaries sit 6th from bottom of the league on 32 points, they are 16 points clear of the drop zone and are unbeaten in 3 games. An eye-catching 4 - 0 win at Peterborough Sports was followed by a 3 - 1 home win against Alvechurch last Saturday. On Tuesday evening, they travelled to Stratford Town and claimed a point despite being 2 -0 down at half time.
 Tamworth travelled to play Hitchin on 31st August and won 3 - 0 with goals coming from Greg Kazaboni (2) and Dan Creaney You can relive the game here with the match highlights.

 Following on from the excellent win over Royston Town on Tuesday evening the Lambs are keen to kick on in their title aspirations. Dan Creaney and Ryan Beswick were both on the mark, and when Beswick converted his penalty it made it 50 league goals for the Lambs in 25 games played. It also signalled 50 points for the season too. It will be a busy week for the Lambs with games at Alvechurch and Redditch United following in quick succession. Ahmed Obeng is hoping to have recovered from the knock sustained on Tuesday evening and Chris Lait may be fit enough to take a place on the bench.
