Lambs through in Birmingham Senior Cup

Monday Dec 2, 2019

 Coleshill Town 2 Tamworth 2 - Tamworth win 4 - 2 on penalties

A strong Coleshill performance forced Tamworth to come from behind twice in this B'ham Senior Cup tie. On a cold night the home side took the lead via a deflected free kick in the 7th minute but Chris Lait, starting his first game since his return from AFC Telford, levelled the scores in the 20th minute. Tamworth could have gone into the break with the lead but Coleshill were grateful to their keeper for two good saves from Greg Kazaboni. An impressive 25 yard  strike from Sandhu put the home outfit back ahead in the 55th minute and they looked like holding onto the lead until Chris Lait popped up in the 92nd minute for his second of the game.

The game moved straight to penalties, with Ryan Beswick, Lathaniel Rowe-Turner, James Fry and Rhys Hoenes all scoring while Coleshill missed the target once and Richard Walton made an excellent save.
