LAMBS REMAIN UNBEATEN

Saturday Aug 1, 2015

TAMWORTH wrapped up their pre-season programme with this hard-fought draw at Dales Lane against a determined Rushall Olympic side and remained unbeaten in their pre-season build-up...

However, with just a week to go ahead of the brand new kick-off Andy Morrell has injury worries over striker Ross Dyer who limped off, with what looked like an ankle injury six minutes before the break to be replaced by the player-manager himself.

In the Lambs final pre-season game chances were at a premium and overall a draw was a fair result over the ninety minutes.

The visitors opened on the attack and Lee Smith found Steve Tomassen out on the right whose dangerous cross was headed away but the home side hit back when Luke Benbow almost played the ball through for Bilal but Smith was there to clear.

Andy Burns hit back for the visitors and his surging run took him into the heart of the Pics defence before he was eventually crowded out and then Danny Newton saw his shot deflected. James Belshaw was then forced into a good save, in the thirty third minute beating away Benbow`s close range pile-driver but there was a blow for Tamworth when striker Ross Dyer limped out of the action with a foot injury.

The visitors kept on the attack and Millard saw his cross cleared as the half drew to a close.

Both sides made numerous changes at the interval and the home side opened up well when Bilal headed over and Duggan`s header just cleared the bar and then Raaj Gill comfortably held Kris Taylor`s long range shot.

There was a chance for the Lambs when Brad Gascoigne headed over as the game petered out to a goalless draw.
