TAMWORTH have completed the signing of the talented Ellis Deeney from National League North rivals, Worcester City, on a long-term deal...

Deeney joined Worcester at the turn of 2012 from Hinckley United and has gone on to skipper the club as well as become a popular figure both on and off-the-field.

A versatile and committed performer, he came through the ranks at Aston Villa where he was captain of the youth team which reached the FA Youth Cup Final in 2010.

“I am delighted to have signed Ellis,” beamed player-manager, Andy Morrell. “He is someone that we have been monitoring for some time and a lot of hard work, by everyone, has gone into getting this deal done.

“He is a strong, confident and competitive midfielder who possesses a vast range of passing and has led by example each time I have seen him play.

“I am sure that he will be a huge success here at Tamworth FC. A number of clubs from higher levels were interested in him, so it is a real coup that he has joined us.

“The length of the deal shows not only our belief in him, but also his commitment to Tamworth and our plans for the future.”
