Lambs back in League action on Saturday and Free Programme

Friday Oct 16, 2020

Tamworth welcome Royston Town to the Lamb on Saturday (KO 3.00pm) in a Pitching In Southern League Premier Central fixture. The game is all ticket and you can access our ticket portal here or by clicking on the image.

The Lambs and Royston Town were battling it out for the league title before last season was cruelly brought to a halt. As expected both teams are seen as contenders for honours this season, but it is Tamworth that have had the better start to the season. While the Lambs have 8 points from 5 games played, Royston have yet to win and have drawn 4 of their 5 games. Both teams went out of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening. Royston had a local derby at Isthmian Premier league outfit Bishop Stortford and lost 3 - 0.
Tamworth will be hoping that their injury crisis will be improving however, Tyrell Waite and Dan Creaney will be out for a number of weeks. Henri Wilder will be available after serving his one game ban, but Aaron Forde and Jordan Gough will be serving the final game of their suspensions. One player who will be available is Chris Cox who signed earlier this week.

Gary Smith says a mouthwatering home clash with Royston Town is the perfect motivation for Tamworth to bounce back from two successive defeats.  Joint boss Smith said: "We have been here before in terms of losing a game although probably not in the manner of the Oxford match and score. "But I am sure we are capable of bouncing back as we have shown in the past.
"For me there's no better game for us to bounce back than a league game against one of our biggest rivals last season.  "They had a fantastic side last year with a great understanding amongst their players. They play with spirit and it's going to be a game where we will have to be at our best if we are to get something from it.
"They certainly won't make it easy for us but we don't have time to be feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to react in a positive way."

Tickets for Saturday’s clash need to be purchased from our online portal which you can access here.
Programmes are now available online, still free of charge, and features Henri Wilder on the cover. Click on the image below to get your copy.
