Ladies Narrow Defeat

Monday Sep 2, 2019

Tamworth Ladies made their first appearance in the Women's FA Cup and despite a great performance lost by the odd goal in 5 to higher league opposition on Sunday afternoon.

Tamworth Ladies welcomed Shrewsbury Town to the CR MOT Centre Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon and took the lead in the 14th minute when Rebecca Milner headed home from a corner. Olivia Minshull pulled the tie level in the 23rd minute with a shot form the edge of the area. The teams went into the break all square but 11 mins after half time Liv Whoolston slotted past the visitor's keeper to restore the lead. The lead lasted for just 6 mins before Natasha Hill shot home to bring the tie level again. Despite going all out for the victory it was heartbreak for the Lambs in the final minute when Natasha Hill's long range effort hit the back of the net to win the game for Shrewsbury Town.

Following the game Manager Ryan Hamilton spoke to Lambs Media which you can watch here
