"Further evidence of player pathway" says Morrell!
After 123 consecutive Lambs appearances (excluding Birmingham Senior Cup), James Belshaw was finally forced to step aside last Saturday at Worcester City due to injury. That allowed ex-Walsall Goalkeeper Dan Jezeph to make his competitive debut for the club, after spending time out on loan with Rugby Town earlier in the season.
“We spoke to Belly (James Belshaw) in the week. He has been struggling for a month or so with it and getting through games." Morrell told Matt Panter. “But we decided he's not doing anyone any favours now, it's got to that stage."
“We want to promote youth and that is what our pathway at Tamworth is all about and so getting a lad in on loan would have sent out the wrong message. I felt Dan deserved as go. He is match fit and has played games on loan at Rugby.
"We thought he did very well. His kicking was good, along with his positional play. His bravery for one of their chances was great as well. He has done himself no harm whatsoever and did himself proud."
