If we had travelled to Rushall Olympic today....

Saturday Mar 21, 2020

... it would have been our 20th competitive fixture. Let's have a look back at some of those games.

Rushall Olympic, or the Pics as they are known, and Tamworth are only 13 miles apart and no doubt a sizeable Lambs following would have made the short journey to Dales Lane this afternoon. As we know all football in the BetVictor Southern League has been stopped until 3 April at the earliest and perhaps this date may change too once the leagues have met next week to discuss the situation further.
Tamworth and Rushall have locked horns on 19 occasions since the first meeting on 29 Aug 1984 in a West Midlands League game played at the Lamb in front of a crowd of 513. Tamworth won 1 - 0 with the goal scored by Trevor Crompton. The return fixture at Dales Lane saw the Pics win 1 - 0 on 10 November 1984. Games against Rushall were a regular occurance until Tamworth’s promotion to the Southern League Midlands Division. The clubs then only met each other in the Staffs Senior Cup and an FA Cup tie before renewing acquaintances in the league last season. Rushall made their first visit to the Lamb in 4 years on August Bank Holiday (27 Aug 2018) and lost 2-0 with Chris Lait and Tristan Dukley on target. The return game was the Boxing Day fixture ended all square in a 1 - 1 draw.
The teams faced each other at the Lamb this season on 2 November 2019 with Tamworth grabbing all three points in a 2-1 win. Both goals were scored by Captain Ryan Beswick.

 The complete playing record is P19 W12 D3 L4
