 Departing U21 Manager interviewed!

Departing under-21s manager Gareth Zimmerman says being involved in the coaching set-up at Tamworth has been ‘an amazing experience’ writes Matt Panter of The Tamworth Herald.

Having overseen the Under-21s to the Birmingham Saturday Amateur Cup last weekend, it was confirmed Zimmerman would be departing his managerial role. In a statement, the 47-year-old from Tamworth said: “It has been a great experience being part of Tamworth Football Club.

“I have had some amazing experiences and met some fantastic people here. There are some talented young footballers at the club and the academy and scholarship programme is starting to produce some fantastic players which will benefit Tamworth FC in the next couple of years."

“I would also like to thank the players who played for me and who committed to train hard, listened to what I had to offer as guidance and who developed over this season. I’m proud of them and have made some great friends. It has been amazing working closely with Gary Smith and Jamie Relph and I wish them continued success in all that they set out to do."

“I’ve had some fantastic personal messages which makes me feel that I have made an impact to many involved at the club.”
