Greene Previews Week Ahead

Friday Nov 2, 2018

 Manager targeting league points!

After midweek progression in The Buildbase FA Trophy, Manager Dennis Greene caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald to look ahead to two key league games.

“I think the Gainsborough win had been coming,” he said. "It’s four clean sheets out of the last five – since we changed the shape we haven’t conceded a goal. More than that, though, they have been good fighting performances and we have shown a lot of spirit. Our problem has been scoring goals and we have stressed it in the dressing room that we have to start getting our shots off."

Greene continued “We did that on Tuesday with two first-half goals, great finishes from Tyrell (Waite) and Laity (Chris Lait). It gave us a platform to build on then. We knew we were solid defensively and it was going to be hard for Trinity to break us down and so it proved. We managed the game really well second half."

Ahead of the visit of Hitchin to The Lamb on Saturday, Greene said “We have two games now in the league so it’s a chance for six points on the board. If we can get those wins then the whole complexion of the league changes. It will move us up the table and we will still have 30 games to go. If we get the performances we have in the last three matches we should be winning games of football. There’s potential in the group. We just need to see it through.”
