Greene On Appointment

Thursday Sep 20, 2018

 New Manager speaks!

Dennis Greene spoke to Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald this evening following his appointment as first team manager at the club.

Greene told the Tamworth Herald: "It's a club that's looking to progress so I think it's a great opportunity for me here. It's good to come to a club where they are looking to get promoted because often, when a new manager is brought in, they come into a situation where the club are just looking to survive in the league. But Tamworth should be in the Conference North as a minimum," he added.

"The club has dropped in the last couple of years and it is a shame that has happened. So we need to get it back now into the vicinity of those kind of leagues, the National North and above. I have known the club for a long time through playing against them with Boston."

"When I was the gaffer at St Neots and Marcus Law was here at Tamworth, I came and watched them train a few times. I was only a manager in the UCL at the time and thought 'I want some of this later on. So I know what a great club it is and when the job came up, it was an ideal one for me. Now I am looking forward to a really exciting and successful season and let's make sure we are in with a shout during the shake up at the end of the season."
