GREEN READY TO GO IN THE FA CUP

Saturday Sep 26, 2015

SKIPPER, Paul Green, is looking for an improvement in our performance levels as we set out on the FA Cup trail this weekend with the visit of Alfreton Town...

Last weekend’s goalless draw with Bradford Park Avenue may have seen us extend our unbeaten start to the campaign to 11 games, but our display fell below the high standards that we have set ourselves.

“We never really got going in our last game,” he admitted. “I suppose we were lucky to come away with a point in the end.

“It was one of those days when too many of us were not on our game, but thankfully we managed to get something out of the game.

“It’s hard to put a finger on why it happened because we did well in our previous two games on the road.

“All we can do now is make sure that we react the right way on Saturday and get our name in the hat for the next round draw.

“We know that it will be a difficult tie for us; Alfreton will come here and make life tough for us, but if we can reach the standards that we know we are capable of, we can have every confidence of getting the win.

“It will be nice to get a good crowd behind us to give us the backing that we need.”
