THE LAMBS made it eight games without defeat with a convincing 3-0 victory over Worcester City at The Lamb on Saturday...
Player-manager, Andy Morrell, was delighted with the way in which his players extended their unbeaten run as we remain within the leading pack in The National League North.
"It was a fully deserved win," he said. "We didn't come out of the blocks well and were a little sloppy for the opening five minutes or so, but after that we were well on top against a good team.
"We knew it would be a tricky game, and the conditions didn't help, but we were on top for the majority and secured a deserved three points.
"I felt that we defended our box well. were competitive and looked lively going forward. We were also dangerous from set-pieces, which was pleasing to see.
"In truth we should have been further ahead going at the break, and it's always a worry when that happens, but we got our second goal at the right time early in the second half and there was just no stopping us after that.
"There was a good work ethic from everyone involved; our momentum is building all of the time now and it's important that we get our home form right."
We take a break from League action on Saturday with a trip to National League outfit, FC Halifax Town, in the first round of the FA Trophy.
"It's a tough game," admitted Morrell. "They have struggled this season, but Jim Harvey is an experienced man and he seems to be turning things around there.
"We go into the game with nothing to lose and it will be nice to test ourselves against a team from the League above.
"It's one that we are looking forward to and we'll go there and give it a real good go."
