GILL GLEE

Wednesday Feb 24, 2016

GOALKEEPER, Raaj Gill says he is hoping for more opportunities to play for Panjab after making his International debut last weekend...

Gill played for 30 minutes of Panjab’s 2-2 draw with the Leicester City International Academy at the Foxes' training ground on Saturday.

“It was a really good experience," he said. "A chance to bring a new group of players together really.

“I was one of three 'keepers and we all had 30 minutes.

“It was very much a match focused on giving all the lads some game time.

“We worked on things like shape and it was an opportunity for us all to get to know each other.

“The result wasn’t so much of a factor in this particular game. At one point, our captain, a striker, played at left-back, to make sure everyone had minutes.

“We got a 2-2 draw and I really enjoyed it and hopefully I will be involved with the squad in the future.

“There’s a training camp in March so hopefully I will be involved in that and do well.

“I had a chat with the manager [Reuben Hazell] afterwards and he seemed happy with me.

"We had a good chat about the Panjab FA’s plans and there are lot of exciting things for the future.”
