"Overall I think we were the better side tonight," assistant boss Darron Gee said on Tuesday night after The Lambs drew 1-1 with fellow title chasers Southport, "It was a great game of football and we are disappointed that we only got the point rather than all three. It is a measure of the game, against a decent side, that both sides came away with a point and for us to have come back from a goal down and then have chances to win it showed us that we are more than capable of keeping up the momentum,"
"Lady luck seems to have deserted us at times and hopefully that will change soon. I thought the first half was one of the best we have played all season and we've just got to keep performing like that and not look around too much at what the other teams around us are doing.
"Martin Foster came off with a possible hamstring problem while Bradley Pritchard is suspended on Saturday (v Farsley Celtic, 3pm kick off at The Lamb) and Nick Wright is suffering from a groin strain and could be out for 3-4 weeks, but on the plus side Jake Sheridan put in a great display and if he takes his chance he can cement his place in the first team. It was great for him to get a goal tonight and justified his selection and hard work this season even though chances have perhaps been limited for him so far."
