Gary Mills has left Tamworth FC to take up the Managers position at York City FC. Joining Gary at Bootham Crescent will be Darron Gee who has been Gary's Assistant for a number of years. Gary leaves the Lambs with the club's best wishes and everyone at the club would like to place on record their thanks for the hard work that he has done in establishing the club as a Football Conference National side.
It is a challenge that Gary could not turn down, Gary on Wednesday morning said that it was a tough decision but it was such a big club who are an ex Football League side with ambitions of returning back into the Football League sooner than later he could not turn down an offer that he and Darron had worked hard for. Everyone knows what Tamworth FC means to Gary, he has been involved close on a total of near on ten years in two spells. They are both proud of what they have achieved and despite the League getting stronger they are leaving behind a good set of players and whoever comes in will have a good base to start with. It is a sad day for Gary as he has made many friends at the club and in the Town. Gary went on to say that he and Darron are both proud of what they have done. Gery and Darron have enjoyed the hard work which has seen the club start this season well and despite the recent losses they feel the squad is strong enough to return back to winning ways very soon.
In the interim Des Lytlle will be asked to look after the team for training on Thursday and for Saturdays home match against Rushden & Diamonds.
