Gaffer On York Battle

Friday Feb 2, 2018

 Morrell looks ahead to weekend!

And, ahead of Saturday’s important clash, Manager Andy Morrell took time out to speak to Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald. He said, “I am a glass half-full kind of person and my players are the same. There are some people who are more half-empty and it’s up to us to change their minds and so we have got to get back to what we are good at. We have got a good set of lads here and the mindset has been good, very positive in recent weeks. We still believe."

With York City on the horizon, Morrell added “We need to go into games, get the ball moving at pace and we have got the players to do that. We need to put a run together now and pick up some points. It’s a key couple of weeks for us. York have been on a good run of late,” said Morrell. “They have a lot of money, they are full time and they are a strong team in all departments."

Morrell praised experienced forward Jon Parkin, who may not feature on Saturday. "In Jon Parkin, they have a very good striker and someone who scores a lot of goals. They have a lot of seasoned pros at this level. So we will have to be very solid as a group and take the game to them. But we have beaten them once this season already. We went to their place and grafted really hard and played well. We need to have the same mindset again."
