LAMBS defender, Dan Preston, has urged his team-mates to start on the front-foot this weekend as they prepare to host local rivals Hednesford Town...
We go into the clash with The Pitmen on the back of a 4-0 victory at Lowestoft Town last weekend and ex-Birmingham City defender Preston wants the side to keep that momentum going this weekend.
"The Gaffer [Andy Morrell] spoke before the Lowestoft game about the need to start well," he said. "We did that and had the game wrapped up by half-time, leading 3-0.
"We need to do the same again this weekend.
"We are going into the game full of confidence after last weekend and it's up to us now.
"It's all about getting out of the blocks quickly and building on the momentum that we have."
Preston admits he is relishing the match-up with Hednesford.
"I love the local derbies. It gives you an extra boost playing in the big games," he went on. "They have a few lads we know as well – TJ [Tom James] and Trains [Phil Trainer] – so it will be good to have a catch-up with them, as they were both good lads who I got on well with."
Preston, meanwhile, says he was delighted to see Danny Newton on the scoresheet in the win at Lowestoft.
Newton bagged twice in the clash and Preston said: "It was great to see Newts on the score-sheet and hopefully he can kick on now.
"He works so hard and hopefully this will build his confidence up and he can become a really big player for us.
"It's looking really positive now, from an attacking point of view.
"Metts [Leon Mettam] is back firing as well and you always know that wherever he goes, he gets goals.
"So Saturday was great really. The strikers were scoring goals and we kept a clean sheet.
"It was the perfect result and we want to build on that now."
