PLAYER-manager, Andy Morrell, has given his verdict on our 3-1 defeat at North Ferriby United last weekend...

“I felt that we did well to weather an early storm from our hosts,” he said. “We had a good shape to us and looked solid.

“To be fair, there was nothing in the game for the vast majority of the opening period, but then we conceded a couple of poor goals just before half-time and it made it a tough task for us.

“Credit to our boys because we took the game to them after the break and managed to pull a goal back before having further chances to draw level.

“We were always in the game, but when they got their third goal, it deflated us a bit.

“You could say that key moments went against us; it’s fine lines and whilst it is frustrating, I have every faith in the character of the lads to bounce back in the right way in our next game.

“I know that if we play like this each week, we will win more than we lose.

“We can’t wait to get back at it and we’ll go into the festive matches in a positive frame of mind with a real determination to get back into winning ways.”
