Festive Football Betting Preview

Tuesday Dec 18, 2018

The busy Christmas period begins in earnest on Saturday with many teams playing four times in eleven days, the opportunity for placing some bets increases.

Firstly, use the genting bet sign up promo code to receive an insurance bet and then have a look at all the matches.

With Tamworth playing four very competitive matches over the festive period and currently 100/1 to win the league, it may be better to look elsewhere when making selections.

On Saturday St. Ives are the visitors to The CR MOT Centre Community Stadium and with only two places in the league separating both teams, it will prove to be a very competitive game. Earlier in the season St. Ives managed a narrow 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture.

Elsewhere in the Southern League Central Division this week several teams are playing midweek fixtures to catch up postponed games. Coalville (9/4) travel to favourites Stratford (19/20) hoping to gain victory and push up the table towards a playoff spot and overtaking Stratford in the process. Lowestoft (16/5) host favourites Biggleswade (8/11) on Tuesday and hope to narrow the gap on the top two and heap further pressure on Lowestoft who currently sit in the relegation zone. Barwell and St. Neots face each other with both only just above the relegation zone, so a win for either team will ease the pressure and be a nice Christmas present for their fans. The bookies can not really separate the two teams with Barwell 6/5 and St Neots 7/4. The draw is 13/5.

On Boxing Day The Lambs travel to local rivals Rushall Olympic hoping to complete the double after winning the home fixture 2-0 back in August. It will be a tough task with both teams on 23 points in mid table. The other league fixtures on Boxing Day are all local rivalries which will prove difficult to select winners. Perhaps the four games below are worth looking at where league position show strong favourites. League leaders Stourbridge travel down the road to struggling Halesowen hoping to keep their good form going while second place Kettering travel to bottom of the league Bedworth wanting to keep the pressure on the league leaders as only one team will get promoted automatically. Other interesting fixtures include King’s Lynn hosting lowly neighbours Lowestoft and Leiston hosting Needham Market.

On the Saturday between Christmas and New Year Tamworth will travel to Alvechurch who are sitting pretty in the final playoff spot. Another difficult game is expected as the reverse fixture back in August ended in a 1-1 draw. Tamworth’s team is vastly different from that match and Dennis Greene believes the new faces have improved the team.

Finally, on New Year’s Day The Lambs will host Barwell who are also in a similar league position to The Lambs.

With twelve points on offer over the festive period the league table could look vastly different come the start of 2019. Tamworth fans will hope for some consistency and a much-improved league position and maybe an improved betting balance if they can make the correct selections.
