FA Vase memories

Monday May 6, 2019

It was 30 years ago today that most of Tamworth travelled south to watch Graham Smith's side set foot on the hallowed Wembley turf and took on Sudbury Town in the 1988-89 FA Vase Final.

The game ended 1-1 after extra time and we won the replay at Peterborough 3-0 a few days later.

Some of the players, supporters, friends and family who enjoyed the games are no longer with us, so please take a moment to remember them when you think back about Martin Devaney's second half equalising goal, the celebrations in the Castle Grounds and everything that surrounded two fantastic days in our club's history.
