FA Trophy Draw

Monday Nov 13, 2017

 Lambs to face home tie!

Following the draw at Wembley today, it has been confirmed that we will face the winner of Warrington Town and Ashton United in the third qualifying round of this seasons Buildbase FA Trophy. The tie will take place at The EST Electrical Services Stadium at The Lamb on Saturday November 25th, with a 3.00pm kick off. Admission prices will be announced shortly.

Both Warrington and Ashton are mounting serious promotion challenges from the Evostick Northern Premier Division, sitting in second and fifth places respectively going in to tomorrow evenings replay. The pair drew 1-1 at Warrington on Saturday.

Reflecting on the news, Lambs boss Andy Morrell told Matt Panter of The Tamworth Herald "I'm pleased we have got a home draw because we have not had them very often in the cup competitions. It's going to be a tricky game, whichever side we face because they will come here with nothing to lose and everything to gain. We have come unstuck against lower league sides before, such as Farsley and Stafford. It's something we have got to put to bed. Those results show how important it will be for us to set ourselves up correctly and prepare properly."
