Experienced Striker Signs On

Wednesday Jul 15, 2020

Tamworth are delighted to welcome Aaron O'Connor to the Lamb for the new season.

Aaron has a wealth of experience having played as a striker in the Football League and the higher levels of the National Game. His early career saw him take in spells at Scunthorpe United, Nuneaton Borough and Ilkeston Town before spending 2.5 successful seasons at Gresley Rovers where he scored 80 goals in 127 games. This earned him a move to Grays Athletic in the Conference National. Following a season at Grays, Aaron made a move to Mansfield Town and then on to Rushdon and Diamonds in 2009 where he was club Captain. In 2011 he was on the move again, this time to Luton Town and then on to Newport County. It was a successful spell in Wales and a highlight of his three seasons was scoring the winning goal for County in the play off final at Wembley against Wrexham. After leaving County he played for Forest Green Rovers and Stevenage before settling at Kettering in 2016, where he helped the club rise to the National League North, scoring 62 goals in 124 appearances. Welcome to the Lamb Aaron!
