Lateef Elford-Alliyu a former England under 17 International who was on the books of Crawley Town last season has finally been allowed to join the Lambs after his International Transfer Certificate was finally obtained from the Icelandic FA. Lateef who was on Crawley's books until June 30th went out to Iceland on a months loan deal in June but with a change of Secretary at the Red Devils his ITC was not brought back when the loan ended.
This caused complications for the Lambs but after waiting a week the club learned that it had finally arrived late Wednesday afternoon. The player was registered with the Conference last week as it was hoped he would have been clear to play at Cambridge but we did not announce the signing in case there were continuing problems with the ITC.
With Lateef set to wear the number 26 shirt it will at least give Dale another striking option for Saturday as with Justin Richards side-lined for a few more weeks the need for more bodies up front is just what is needed at this stage of the season. We welcome Lateef who will be looking for a quick return to the FL so a few good games for the Lambs and the scouts will back to have a look at his progress.
