Bumper crowd witnesses first league defeat in 9!
Manager Andy Morrell was disappointed with yesterdays result, but paid tribute to the 1304 Lambs fans who made the trip to The GST Gas Services Stadium at The Lamb as part of the 1637 crowd. This was the biggest home attendance since EFL Championship side Bristol City visited in the FA Cup in December 2013, and the highest league attendance since the visit of Luton Town in October 2013.
Ross Dyer's well taken goal in the 25th minute was ultimately not enough to rescue a point for The Lambs, who had given themselves a mountain to climb after conceding twice in the first 23 minutes.
Morrell said "It was very pleasing to see the positive gate on Boxing Day. The home fans really came out in force and got behind the lads, but unfortunately we weren't able to win the game on the day for them. We have a chance to put this right on New Years Day, and will now focus all of our attention on that game."
