Double Loan Signing

Friday Dec 22, 2017

 Kettle and Wharton become Lambs!

We have today moved to strengthen the squad for the busy festive period with the loan acquisitions of central defender Joel Kettle and central midfielder Theo Wharton. Kettle joins from National League neighbours Solihull Moors, while Wharton joins from divisional rivals York City.

With four central defenders currently in the treatment room, Manager Andy Morrell moved to secure Joel Kettle, who has also represented the likes of Rushall Olympic and Sutton Coldfield Town locally. On Kettle, Morrell said "Joel will bring some experience to our back line. He has featured quite a bit in the league above so far this season, and is competitive and aggressive."

Midfield options have also been limited following Ben Fox's recall to parent club Burton Albion, so Theo Wharton has been secured temporarily to solve this problem. "He has great pedigree" said Morrell. "We have had good reports on his time at Cardiff City. He is mobile and has a good range of passing, so should certainly be a big asset to us."

Both players have joined initially up to and including January 20th 2018, and subject to FA clearance, will be available for selection against Leamington in National League North tomorrow.
