Development Weekend Round Up

Monday Jan 22, 2018

U18 and U14 games survive weather!

With poor weather meaning the postponement of U21, U16, and U15 fixtures over the weekend, it was left to our U18 and U14 teams to fly the Lambs flag. Both mirrored our first team fixture, and faced Brackley Town.

Claus Jorgensen's U18's recorded an 8-2 home Midland Junior Premier League victory over Brackley, a feat made all the more impressive considering no fewer than 7 of the 15 man squad on the day were current U16 players. With no U21 fixture, first year Scholar Chandler Pegg dropped back down to the U18's and netted a second half hattrick. New U16 signing Harry Brophy chipped in with a first half brace, while goals from fellow U16 Nathan Cox, second year Scholar Conor O'Rourke, and an own goal rounded things off.

In the days only other game to survive the wet conditions, Wayne Smart's U14 side made the journey to Northamptonshire, and came away with a 3-1 away victory, mirroring their result last time out. Harry Eddington, Jackson McCandlish, and Scott Hardy doing the damage for the young Lambs.

Weather permitting, we expect all five development sides to be back in action this coming weekend.
