DES ARMY, DES ARMY

Thursday Oct 14, 2010

After a day out on the golf course Des Lyttle was finally tracked down on Wednesday evening and after speaking with Bob Andrews the club Chairman he was pleased to accept the offer of looking after the teams training sessions and selecting the team at The Lamb on Saturday when Rushden & Diamonds are the visitors.

Des moved quickly to bring his own staff in and joining him as coach at the Whittington training base was former WBA and Tamworth player Bob Taylor. Bob was and is still a popular figure at The Lamb and his experience will be invaluable to Des as he makes his first inroads to seeking the managers job full time.

Des is looking for the Tamworth fans to get down to the Lamb on Saturday ( a game sponsored by Codsgill Engineering) and get behind the team as they attempt to put the recent bad run of results behind them.

Alex Rodman & Michael Wylde are in a bouyant mood after their apperances for England C last Tuesday evening in Estonia where they helped the Three Lions side to a 1-0 win in Estonia. Scott Barrow will be back in contention after his appearance for Wales Under 23's in their match against Poland. Scott unfortunately had to miss Thursday's training session due to him having to attend his Grandfathers funeral. All at Tamworth FC send their condolences to Scott and his family at this sad time.

It has been a difficult week at The Lamb but life has to carry on so it will be Des's Army that will be needed to get down to give the team their full support and play their part in helping the team gain the three points which are needed to keep the club in the top half of the table.

The vacant Manager's position has already attracted a number of high quality candidates  so it will be even more interesting over the next few days to see who else is goingto throw their hat into the ring. Des is currently in the driving seat and it is a chance that he has waited for and we all wish him well as he looks to make the position his own.
