GOAL hero, Ellis Deeney,  says he was ‘buzzing’ after scoring a sublime free-kick in Tamworth’s 2-1 win over Curzon Ashton on Tuesday night...

Deeney curled in a brilliant set-piece to give Tamworth a first-half lead in their National North clash. Ross Dyer then went on to score a second for the Lambs before Curzon bagged a late consolation.

“I am buzzing after that free-kick to be honest,” said Deeney. “I had one at Corby on Saturday which I blazed about 20 yards over the bar, so it was nice to see that one go in.

“It was crucial we got the opening goal. As soon as we scored, it eased the pressure and we were no longer walking on egg shells. I felt then we started to relax and got on the ball.

“And it was nice to see Ross Dyer starting the game and scoring a goal as well. It’s always good to see your strikers scoring goals.”
