Davies And Ezewele Make Thier Mark

Tuesday Aug 30, 2016

Squad depth displayed over Bank Holiday weekend!

Chasetown was the setting for this weekends two goal hero Jed Davies in the early part of 2016. Davies, who picked up the man-of-the-match award in Saturdays victory against Bradford Park Avenue, was loaned out to The Scholars to gain valuable game time, after slipping down the midfield pecking order in the second half of last season.

Scorer of yesterdays decisive third goal, Louis Ezewele, was another player who enjoyed a successful loan spell last season with Romulus. Despite a couple of impressive starts for the first team last term, Ezewele was unable to oust the likes of Tomassen, Preston, Heaton, and Carter to gain regular first team football.

Both players have come back stronger following their respective loan spells, and have been key components in the six point haul over the Bank Holiday weekend. Davies (21) and Ezewele (19) both demonstrate the clubs commitment to offering opportunities to progress for local young players, and also the benefits that the loan system can have at this level of football.

Both will be aiming to retain their starting places as we prepare to take on Chorley this weekend.
