Tamworth boss Dale Belford has completed the loan signing of Gillingham midfielder
Charlie Allen. The 21-year-old Allen started his senior career with Notts County, where he played nine times.
He has played 37 games For the Gills, scoring twice.
He made his Gillingham debut on August 18, 2012, helping them to a 3-1 win over Bradford City.
Allen began his career at Brentford, joining the club aged 14 and progressed into
the youth team team but was not offered a professional contract at the end of
his 2 year scholarship.
Allen joined Dagenham and Redbridge youth academy, playing for Billericay on
dual-registration, before signing at Notts County for the start of the 2011-12 season.
He made his debut in a 2-0 defeat to Preston on 27 August 2011. In May 2012 he was released by the club but two months later he was signed by Gillingham.
"We are delighted to get Charlie on board," said Belford. "It's a great signing for us.
He's a box-to-box midfielder who plays centrally but also on the right.
"He's full of energy and can also score goals. He gives us more options in the middle of the park."
Meanwhile, Kaiyne Woolery, Scott James and Louis Harris have been sent on loan to Stafford
Rangers.
