A match in aid of Help the Heroes is being hosted at The Lamb on Sunday afternoon, kick off 2pm.
The event has been organised by Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service, Staffordshire Police and Tamworth Borough Council. The highlight of the day will be a football match between Firefighters and Police officers from Tamworth. Ex-Tamworth star, Bob Taylor will manage the Police team and TFC boss, Gary Mills has been invited to manage the Fire Service team. Dale Belford will also make an appearance along with Richard Sneekes and other former WBA players.
There will also be the opportunity for people to have a close look at fire engines and specialist equipment that allow Firefighters to assist people in time of need. The Police will also provide such demonstrations.
For entertainment on the day a number of local groups have been invited to show their skills, these include a dance troupe, a gymnastics team, a kickboxing demonstration and a parade by local Cadets.
Entrance to the whole event is free, there will be opportunities to donate money for charity via collection boxes and a raffle. Prizes include signed football shirts from Tamworth, WBA, Villa and Blues, along with prizes from The Snowdome, Arena, Odeon and Strkers. All proceeds raised will be shared between The Firefighters Charity and Help for Heroes.
