Chairman Speaks

Saturday Apr 28, 2018

 Andrews targets immediate promotion!

Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald caught up with Lambs Chairman Bob Andrews this week for his reaction to the club relegation. Andrews began “Of course, I am very disappointed with the way things have gone this season. We feel, as a club, we belong at a higher level than we will now find ourselves in but you have to earn that right and we haven’t delivered on the pitch this season."

Andrews continued "Our mission has to be to get straight back up next year. We are big enough and strong enough to fight back from this and we will do. We will regroup and come out fighting and I hope the fans will come back again next season and help us.”

When discussing the future, the Chairman stated “We need to discuss what needs to be done as a club. At the moment, although we know we are going down, the league below is an unknown scenario. The division is changing and we don’t know what we will be up against as yet. But, as I say, we are determined to bounce back."

"We clearly need to address the first-team issues though and that's what we will do. I feel you could go back to the summer where we didn’t have enough of a team spirit from the word go. And, of course, a big regret we have was that we sold Reece Styche, a motivator and a goalscorer. We found ourselves on a downward spiral and we found it hard to pick up. We didn’t seem to be able to turn it around even by bringing in new players."
