THERE was a new face amongst The Lambs’ backroom team this week as George Delves commenced his duties as General Manager and Club Secretary...
The 31 year-old has replaced the long-serving and popular Rod Hadley, who announced his retirement last month.
Delves can boast an impressive CV that includes three and-a-half years at Sheffield United, where he was involved in various coaching, administration and educational roles, and three years with Championship outfit, Derby County.
“This is an exciting project to be involved with,” he said. “I have spoken at length to Bob Andrews and Steve Lathbury and they have outlined where they want to take this club over the next three to five years.
“I feel that I can come in and add some impetus to the club and help it move forward both on and off-the-field.
“On the field, I want to create a platform for Andy Morrell and Mike Fowler to be able to put the best team out that they can.
“There are a lot of areas off-the-field that we are also looking to improve in order to take the club forward.
“The Board have a clear vision of where they want to take the club; we want to reach as high as we possibly can, but obviously in a sustainable manner.
“It is my job to look at ways for us to progress and develop in a sensible and sustainable way. We need to inject new ideas and it’s a challenge that I am looking forward to and face with relish.”
