Burns Speaks

Thursday Mar 22, 2018

 Right back gives update!

Andy Burns took time out this week to catch up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald. Burns started by providing an assessment of an encouraging point gained against league leaders Harrogate Town.

“I think we were good for at least a point and maybe a bit more,” said Burns. “Before the game, people wouldn’t have given us a shout on paper looking at this game. But I felt from the first minute, the game plan we had, we stuck to it, and did well. We had some good chances and played some nice stuff so, although we took a point, it could have been more."

Burns is confident his side will win their survival battle. “In my opinion, it’s better to have points on the board than games in hand,” he said. “Our next four games are winnable. The lads are going into a crucial period full of confidence and it is starting to show on the pitch. We 100 per cent believe we will stay up."

“Even when we have lost games, the belief has always been there. We have got the quality and now I feel the other side of it, the graft side of things, is there as well. We have got to be like that every week. There’s no room for us to not go out and give everything. That’s what it is going to take to make sure we stay in the league.”
