Burns Previews Gainsborough

Friday Mar 17, 2017

"Lets stay positive" says right back!

Ever-present right back Andy Burns caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald earlier this week, to discuss tomorrows fixture with Gainsborough Trinity, and reflect on a disappointing last minute defeat to FC United.

Burns said: "The defeat might leave us with an uphill battle but we have an idea of how many points we need and it's still achievable. We have just got to keep on going and, most importantly, we have to keep on believing. We have put good runs together before, whether it's been 14 games or six or seven."

"We know we can put those results together if we play with confidence and get a bit of luck. We just have to stay positive."

Next up is a home clash with Gainsborough, who need points to avoid relegation. We then entertain fellow promotion hopefuls Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday night before travelling to Stockport County, who are also pushing for a top-five finish.

"It's a huge couple of weeks," Burns admitted. "We have to focus on a game at a time and treat each of them as a cup final. Hopefully we can just put ourselves in with a shout come the last three or four games. We just have to make sure we go out and give it our very best shot."

As always, tickets start from as little as £12 for adults, £7 for concessions, and just £2 for juniors. We need as much support as possible to help us try and secure the victory!
