Burns On York

 Defender previews weekend clash!

Right back Andy Burns caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald this week to discuss the upcoming clash with York City. “We have got a pretty tough run coming up,” he said. “We still have the belief in the dressing room that we can catch the sides above us if we string a good run together now. Anything can still happen. There are a lot of games left and there are points to be clawed back. But we know we have to get on a run sooner rather than later. We know what we have to do and hopefully it starts on Saturday against York.”

Burns believes that fans have seen a noticeable improvement in the side since their 4-1 hammering at the hands of Nuneaton Town on Boxing Day. He said: “I do feel we have had a reaction since then,” he said. “We have been working hard in games. I think people can see we have been putting our bodies on the line, making last-ditch challenges and putting in a lot of blocks. I feel that we are a lot more solid. It’s not perfect, of course. But if we keep that hard work going, I am confident the results will come."

“If we have that work ethic and then bring the football back in we are capable of getting that run going. I think Kidderminster at home was the one game and performance we aspire to get back to. That’s got to be the aim, the performance we are looking at. We have proved we can do it on our day and need to rediscover that as quickly as possible.”
