BURNS BACKING

Friday Feb 26, 2016

TAMWORTH defender, Andy Burns,  says none of the squad had any doubts that young defender, Louis Ezewele, would impress on his full debut in The National League North last weekend...

Ezewele, who has been on loan at Romulus, received a Lambs call-up for the clash with Gloucester City due to Dan Preston’s suspension.

“Louis did brilliantly but it was no surprise to us,” admitted Burns. “He’s always great in training – it’s just that Presso [Dan Preston] and Tommo [Stephen Tomassen] have been brilliant for us this season which has restricted his chances.

“He had to go out on loan to get games, which is understandable. I did exactly the same at his age.

“But I thought he came in and fitted in nicely and was calm.

“With lads like Louis, Raj Gill and Jed Davies, they all have a lot of talent and give great depth to our squad.

“They all have real potential and I believe could eventually play higher. They just have to bide their time and take their chances when they come.”
