Burns Aiming For Third Consecutive Win

Friday Nov 4, 2016

 Andy speaks about Darlington challenge!

Right back Andy Burns caught up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald this week to give his thoughts on the upcoming game!

"The big thing for us this season has been looking for consistency and hopefully we have found a level in the last two games that we can maintain," said Burns. "We need to perform that way week in, week out. In the last couple of matches, I think we have become a lot harder to break down. And we are dictating games a bit more rather than letting the opposition do what they want to us."

"Salford was a great performance because that is a really tough place to go and then I felt we built on that against Fylde. They were top of the league, unbeaten and scoring goals for fun.But we put in arguably our best performance of the season so far and I thought we could have won by more. We had chances in both halves," he added.

"Every one of the lads was right on it for the full 90 minutes and hopefully we can take that into the game with Darlington this weekend." The Quakers will certainly provide Tamworth with another stiff test. They are currently unbeaten in six in the league and have scored 22 times in the process.

But Burns said: "We are at home and we will just concentrate on our game. "They will have their threats and we will work on a plan in training to combat that but we are playing well at the moment and should have the confidence to take the game to Darlington. We are approaching a key time in the season now with Christmas period here and so we want to maintain our form and get up the league."
