Brad Aims To Earn Deal

Reid wants to remain a Lamb!

Lambs striker Brad Reid took time out this week to catch up with Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald.

“The season we had was not one that any of us hoped for,” Reid said. “I feel responsible for that, as I am sure the other players do as well. I told Mike (Fowler) I feel a duty to stay and I want to stay and prove a point."

Reid also updated Panter on his situation ahead of next season “There is no offer on the table for me but Mike has given me the chance to come back in for pre-season. We will see if I can win a deal closer to the start of the campaign. It’s up to me to go out and prove what I can do.”

Reid endured a stop-start campaign, chipping in with half-a-dozen goals but never really establishing himself as a first-team regular. “I didn’t think I was ever fully fit,” he said. “I could have lost some weight to be honest. So it has to be full steam ahead for me during pre-season now and I will be working with (physio) Kieren Berry on my fitness."

“I also feel that leaving Wolves and getting used to non-league football, working full-time and training, took me by surprise a bit. Mike even said last summer it might take me a season to settle in. So hopefully I can show what I’m capable of. I don’t want to be coming off the bench next season,” he added. “I want to show I can be the number nine and hopefully I’ll get that chance with Tamworth.”
