Blue Square Bet Premier - Weekend & Live Match Betting Preview - by Alan Alger from Blue Square Bet

Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Newport County kick-off Non-League Day and the fantastic Cheshire ground-hop with their trip to Macclesfield Town. The hosts are in a sticky patch of form, without a win in five, and have been conceding plenty of goals. County will fancy their chances of capitalising on a defence which has shipped 12 goals in that recent run without a victory. Justin Edinburgh's team are the 8/5 outsiders for this 12.30 kick-off at Moss Rose despite their place in the table and that could appeal to punters who want to get their day off to a good start. The ground-hop then moves on to Edgeley Park where Stockport County take on Kidderminster Harriers in a 3.30pm kick-off. The home side were unlucky in defeat against Wrexham in midweek and are 6/4 to make amends here. The visitors are unbeaten in their last nine games but have only just moved out of the relegation zone. Manager Steve Burr has slowly nursed some big players back from injury for the Aggborough side and we have them as joint 6/4 favourites to take all three points. The third and final game of the ground-hop sees bottom club Hyde host surprise-package Tamworth. Marcus Law's team arrive at Ewen Fields in 7th position and with four wins in their last six matches. In contrast Hyde have won just once all season. It's therefore no surprise that Tamworth are the 11/10 favourites to win on the road for the sixth time this season. Hyde are priced as the 2/1 outsiders to bag just their second victory.

Wrexham went to the top of the title betting market with their win at Stockport in midweek. They picked up a couple of key suspensions in that feisty affair and goalkeeper Joslain Mayebi is still on international duty. With all that taken into account they still rate as the strong favourites to overcome Lincoln City at The Racecourse ground. Wrexham are just 4/11 to win the game with The Imps, who've only won two of their last ten games, offered as the huge 13/2 outsiders. Forest Green Rovers suffered a second defeat on the bounce in midweek and have now lost three of their last seven games. They travel to Mansfield Town who dropped in to the bottom half of the table with a midweek draw at home to Lincoln. The Stags have now been winless for four matches and we offer them at 6/4 - the same price as an away win - for this encounter. Luton Town were shocked by Braintree Town at a huge price of 15/2 in midweek. The Hatters host outsiders at an even bigger price on Saturday as 8/1 Nuneaton visit Kenilworth Road. Surely Paul Buckle's team won't fail for a second time in just a few days at such a short price?

Elsewhere Dartford will have to respond to their midweek wake-up call at the hands of Telford as they travel to in-form Barrow. The Bluebirds have won four of their last seven games and have been showing their usual battling qualities. A home win is the narrow favourite at 7/5. Telford themselves host Grimsby Town and they are 15/8 outsiders to follow-up on that stunning 4-1 win at Princes Park. Grimsby arrive at The New Bucks Head on the fringes of the play-off zone and are priced at 6/5 to stay on track here. Woking are the 10/11 favourites at home to Southport. The Cards are looking for their second home win of the week after defeating Cambridge on Tuesday. Southport at 5/2 have only one win away from home to their name this term. Hereford United are another odds-on home team and are offered at 5/6 to beat visitors Braintree. The Essex side are 11/4 to produce another away success after Tuesday's heroics in Bedfordshire. Ebbsfleet United have not won for six games and are desperately in need of their third win of the season. They are the 13/8 outsiders even though they are the home team as Alfreton Town visit Stonebridge Road. Nicky Law's away side had their six match unbeaten run ended by Grimsby in midweek but are 11/8 favourites to bounce back here.

LIVE MATCH - Gateshead v Cambridge United

Since Richard Money's arrival at Cambridge United they have played two matches, winning at home to Mansfield and then losing in midweek at Woking. The evidence of any turnaround in form might take some piecing together. The U's had already ended their horrendous Autumn run with a 4-1 win at Barrow before the ex-Luton boss arrived. The long journey to Gateshead sees them offered as the 2/1 outsiders for three points that would keep alive their play-off hopes. Cambridge are nine points off that all-important fifth spot in the table. Hosts Gateshead are clinging on to a spot in the top half of the division even though they haven't won for six matches. A midweek 2-2 draw at home to Macclesfield was the first time in that period that they'd found the net more than once in a game. Ian Bogie's team are the 6/5 favourites to get back to winning ways in a match that's extremely hard to figure out. The draw may be the best bet at 12/5. Cambridge games are featuring lots of goals this season as Premier Sports viewers found out from their 3-3 thriller with Telford. ‘Over 2.5 goals' on the total goals market at 8/13 looks like a solid bet here.
