Belshaw Aiming To Be 'Big Part' Of Lambs Future

Thursday Mar 10, 2016

 'Keeper commits for 2016/17.

As announced on social media after Tuesdays victory over Harrogate Town, James Belshaw has signed a new contract with Tamworth FC, extending his stay until the end of the 2016/17 season.

This is fantastic news for the club, as James has proved that he is one of the top Goalkeepers outside of The Football League. He joins Ellis Deeney, who is already contracted for next season, and further talks with other existing squad members will be commencing over the next couple of weeks.

Commenting on his contract extension, James said "I just feel that Tamworth have been really good to me and, on the other side of the coin, I have repaid that with good performances. So I was delighted to sign and the messages, the texts, the calls I have had since agreeing have been incredible."

Belshaw also has exciting plans off the field and said: "I am going to be setting up a goalkeeping academy in Tamworth, that's something that I am putting into place. I remember the people who gave up time to work with me as a young lad and I'd like to do the same, get young lads in the area on board and help their development. I want to see young kids, playing football, with smiles on their faces, and I am looking forward to getting that in place."
