Tamworth continue their battle against relegation this Saturday at the Hive as they face a Barnet side who have not played in three weeks. Two wins in their last seven does not represent play-off form for the Bees but managerial duo Ulrich Landvreugd and Dick Schreuder won their first game in charge since Edgar Davids’s departure, 1-0 at home to Southport.
The Lambs were held at home to basement club Hyde on Tuesday, with Darren Byfield’s opener being cancelled out by a second half Josh Brizell free kick. The point took Tamworth out of the relegation zone at the time but they have now returned to 21st place as Chester bagged a dramatic 2-1 victory at home to Halifax Town on Thursday night.
Duane Courtney, Andy Haworth and Richard Peniket all miss out again through injury and Lloyd Kerry continues his suspension.
The reverse fixture, played at the Lamb in August, ended in a 0-0 stalemate as both teams maintained unbeaten records, but now both face crucial periods in their seasons after only 12 and 7 wins respectively in the league.
Victory from the game could take Tamworth as high as 19th, but the overall record between the two sides suggests it should be a close one, with two wins each and a draw from five matches played.
