AT THE DOUBLE

Tuesday Feb 23, 2016

THE LAMBS battled out our second successive victory at the weekend with a hard-earned 2-1 triumph at Gloucester City...

A Connor Taylor strike and a late penalty from Ellis Denney gave us the win to leave us just six points off the top five.

“I was pleased to see the lads build on victory in our last game to get another three points,” said player-manager, Andy Morrell. “The confidence and belief is back and it was a fantastic victory for us at Gloucester.

“Getting back-to-back wins has certainly made a big difference to us and now our aim is to continue this momentum.

“It wasn’t the prettiest of games and the conditions were not conducive to good football, but we dug-in and got our reward.

“I can’t fault the work ethic and effort that exists within this group and it’s nice to see it paying dividends.

“We’ve got another extremely tough game coming up at Solihull Moors at the weekend, but these are the encounters that we want and we’re looking forward to it.”
