Gareth Sheldon hit his 16th of the season with a 9th minute freekick and new signing Stuart Nicholson bagged a debut goal two minutes after taking to the field (following up a Jake Sheridan shot of the bar) to make sure of the points in added time at the end of the second half as Tamworth completed the double over King's Lynn at The Lamb on Tuesday night.
Their next game is not until February 07 when AFC Telford are the visitors but this Saturday's reserve game v Gresley will feature a very strong first team presence according to assistant boss Darron Gee.
Update, Alex Rodman was taken to hospital following the clash of heads just before half time. We are pleased to report Alex was checked over and given the all clear.
"I thought we were superb again tonight", Gee said after the game, "It was a tough fixture but we started positively and hopefully the win will spread through the whole club.
"We have bounced back excellently from the mini blip we had recently with a complete team performance tonight, but there wil be no rest for the players as we intend to make the reserve game (v Gresley Rovers at The Lamb on Saturday, January 31, 3pm kick off) a first team game in all but name. Obviously a few players wil be rested, but it will be a strong side that takes to the field.
"Stuart Nicholson signed for us on Monday and we 'eased' him in tonight. There is no doubting he is quality and you could see that even though he only played a few minutes at the end. He is a natural goalscorer and to get a goal on his debut shows his pedigree.
We are already aware of other clubs interest in him so hopefully we will help each other out as he looks to further his career, as he will undoubtedly do."
