THERE'S another new face at The Lamb as we have secured the services of the versatile Steve Tomassen from Wrexham in a deal which has seen Kayden Jackson move in the opposite direction...
21 year-old Tomassen is a product of the Centre of Excellence at the Welsh club. He made his senior debut at the end of the 2010/11 campaign and his fine progress was rewarded with a first professional contract in the summer of 2012.
He is able to play as an attack-minded right-back or in the engine room of the team and appeared over 50 times for Wrexham as well as having a productive loan spell with Airbus UK Broughton in 2012/13.
Tomassen worked under Andy Morrell during his time at The Racecourse Ground.
“I’ve known Steve for a while and know exactly what he will bring to the club,” said Morrell. “He’s another young lad with hunger who has played a lot of games at a higher level despite his tender years.
“He can play in a number of different positions and has a fantastic attitude. He will certainly add something to us and it’s another important signing for us.
“I am delighted with business that I have been able to do over the past couple of days. The three signings we have made have given everyone a boost.
“We’re getting a good group together here as we prepare to get back into pre-season training.”
Meanwhile front-man, Jackson, has completed his switch to Wrexham. We thank him for his efforts and wish him well.
