 Chairman on managerial change!

Lambs Chairman Bob Andrews spoke to Matt Panter of the Tamworth Herald today on the departure of first team manager Dennis Greene.

“Dennis has a good CV,” said Andrews. “He had experience and had been there and done it at other clubs. I had a good relationship with him and, when I spoke to him on Sunday, we were both really sorry it hadn’t worked out. We just seemed to get a little lost."

Andrews continued “We have had a lot of injuries and it’s hard not to feel for him in that sense. But, on Saturday, we didn’t seem organised and didn’t have any real method about us. The fans have drifted and we felt we needed to do something to give things a lift.”

Looking ahead, Andrews confirmed the search for a permanent successor is already underway. “We are now weighing up where we are at and where we want to be in the next couple of years. We will be looking to appoint as quickly as possible to give someone an opportunity to start building up to next season so we can really have a go. I want to get us back into the Conference North - and challenging up at the top of that division. We will be doing everything we can to make sure we get the right man to do that.”
