 Danylyszyn on Halesowen test!

Andrew Danylyszyn says there will be no let-up from the Lambs as they strive for greater things between now and the end of the season, reports Matt Panter ahead of another vital home fixture on Saturday afternoon. A 1-0 win over title-chasing Stourbridge on Saturday was a third straight success for the Lambs, leaving them nine points clear of the relegation zone in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Central.

But, despite easing those particular fears, Danylyszyn is determined that the group should kick on – and he hasn’t ruled out a late charge for the play-offs. The Lambs are 15 points behind fifth-placed Stratford with 11 games left to play. And with 33 points still available, Danylyszyn said: “We have seen it before where teams make late runs at the end of the season."

He continued “We are setting our targets high and the lads are buying into that. We will be taking every single game seriously right until the end of the last game of the season. There is still an opportunity for us to finish in the top five and so we will believe we can do that. For me and Gary (Smith), we also have to prove to the board that we are the right people to lead Tamworth forward, not just in the short term but the long term.”

Danylyszyn is expecting a tough test of his side’s current unbeaten run as they host Halesowen at The Lamb this Saturday. Halesowen are second from bottom but Danylyszyn warned: “They will be fighting for every point, fighting for every ball and we have to do the same. “Any team in this league can cause you problems and so we will be making sure we pay attention to every little detail that we feel can give us an advantage. We prepare for every game the same, regardless of the opposition.”

Danylyszyn says the first-team players have also been having an input in training as the club prepares for its fixtures and he believes that has helped create a good vibe around the place in training. “We speak to the players a lot and ask for feedback,” he said. “We talk to them for their thoughts on any issues they feel could crop up against different opposition. We like to have their input, not just on match day but in the lead up to games. I think that’s something that is important in the modern day.”
